Thinking About Couples Counseling but Worried About Being Blamed?
Taking the first step toward couples counseling can feel intimidating. You may worry that therapy will become another argument, that one partner will be blamed, or that the therapist will take sides. At Night Haven Counseling, the goal isn’t to determine who’s right or wrong. It’s to help both partners feel heard, understood, and supported.
Whether you’re experiencing recurring disagreements, communication difficulties, emotional distance, or simply feeling more like roommates than partners, couples counseling offers an opportunity to reconnect and develop healthier ways of navigating your relationship.
I’m Michele Markulec, a Licensed Professional Counselor with Gottman Method Level 2 training. I provide virtual couples counseling throughout Texas, with evening and late-night appointments designed to accommodate busy schedules.
A Gottman-Informed Approach to Couples Counseling
Healthy relationships aren’t built on never disagreeing. They’re built on learning how to navigate disagreements, understand one another, and maintain connection even during difficult seasons.
My Gottman Method Level 2 training provides a research-informed framework for helping couples recognize patterns that contribute to conflict and emotional disconnection. Together, we can work on improving communication, rebuilding friendship and intimacy, managing recurring disagreements, and creating a stronger sense of partnership.
Couples counseling at Night Haven is collaborative. I don’t approach sessions looking for someone to blame or trying to determine which partner is right. Instead, I work to understand each partner’s experience while helping you recognize the patterns that may be keeping your relationship stuck.
The goal is to help you develop practical skills and a deeper understanding of one another that extend beyond our sessions.
Evening and Late-Night Couples Counseling in Texas
Finding time for couples counseling can be challenging when both partners are juggling careers, family responsibilities, and everyday demands. Traditional daytime appointments aren’t always realistic, especially when coordinating two schedules.
Night Haven Counseling offers virtual couples therapy with appointments available between 9 PM and 1 AM, along with select earlier evening appointments on Thursdays.
Whether you’re reconnecting after the kids are asleep, making time after a long workday, or simply prefer the privacy and convenience of counseling from home, evening therapy can make prioritizing your relationship more manageable.
Sessions are conducted securely online, allowing couples throughout Texas to attend from the comfort of their own space.
What Can Couples Counseling Help With?
Every relationship experiences challenges, but sometimes couples find themselves repeating the same arguments, feeling increasingly disconnected, or struggling to understand one another.
At Night Haven Counseling, I work with couples experiencing:
- Communication difficulties and frequent misunderstandings
- Recurring arguments that never seem to get resolved
- Emotional distance or loss of connection
- Difficulty rebuilding trust
- Stress related to parenting and blended families
- Feeling unappreciated, unheard, or misunderstood
- Differences in needs, expectations, and priorities
- Challenges navigating major life transitions
You don’t have to wait until your relationship reaches a breaking point to seek support. Couples counseling can also help partners strengthen an already healthy relationship, improve communication, and create a deeper sense of connection.
The goal isn’t to create a perfect relationship. It’s to help you build a healthier way of navigating life together.
